I am so excited to offer a new class, Body Connection. This class is a 4 part series to help reconnect to your body and remind you how to listen, observe and nurture your body. We only have one body and in order to be the healthiest we can be we need to communicate with our bodies and acknowledge when it is talking to us. And it is always communicating, more often than not, we just don’t listen until we hear pain. Through gentle neck stretches, breath work and a bit of guidance we can start opening up a healthy dialogue with our bodies. You don’t have to know how to meditate or do yoga to get something out of this class. You just need to be willing to open yourself up to learning more about yourself. Here’s an over view of each class(most classes will be an hour, though the first class may go a bit over):
Week 1: For our first class, we will check in with our bodies, create a baseline and build a foundation. We’ll find your range of motion, learn different ways we “hear” our bodies, and work on posture and breath work. You will have homework, but I like to call it self-care.
Week 2: We will check in with each other, share any experiences or ask questions, and continue to build on the foundation we created in Week 1. We will continue to focus on breathwork alongside the neck stretches. This week we will look at how we experience emotions and how they can affect our bodies. Also continue with the homework(self-care)
Week 3: We will check in with each other, share any experiences or ask questions. During this class we will learn some self-acupressure and incorporate it into the work from Weeks 1 and 2. We will consider the different way we “armor” ourselves and create a space where it’s safe to shed a bit of the armor, or at least put a crack in it. Also continue with homework(have fun).
Week 4: Our final week we will check in with each other and reflect on what worked, what didn’t, what was a struggle, and what gave you joy. We’ll finish by everyone creating their own self-care routine to continue after class and moving forward.
Once a month we get together to dive into a chakra. We start the evening with a cup of chakra specific tea and little overview of the chakra and how it can affect us physically, emotionally and mentally. You will learn different ways to activate each chakra, from sound, smell, herbs, meditation, exercise and more. You will be guided through at least one meditation, shown yoga moves and end the evening with a sound bath.
